* David Warner (178) registered the fourth ODI century of his career, the highest score of his career. His previous highest was 163 vs Sri Lanka at Brisbane also coincidentally made on March 4, 2012.
* Warner’s 178 is now the highest score by an Australian in World Cup matches, the previous highest being 158 by Mathew Hayden vs WI in 2007. * Steven Smith was dismissed in the nineties for the first time. He has three hundreds in ODIs.
* The 260-run second wicket partnership is now the highest for the second wicket by far for Australia in WC matches. The previous best was 144 by Trevor Chappell and Kim Hughes vs India in 1983.
* It is also the highest partnership for any wicket by Australia in WC matches bettering the 234* by Ponting/Martyn vs India in 2003.
* It is also the highest 2nd wicket partnership in ODIs for Australia beating the 252* by Shane Watson and Ricky Ponting vs England (2-10-2009)
* Glen Maxwell (88) registered the joint third fastest fifty in WC matches. He joins Brendon McCullum and Mark Boucher who also have WC fifties in 21 balls. The fastest however remains McCullum’s 18 ball fifty vs England at Wellington on 20 Feb 2015
*Australia became the first ODI side to break the 400-run barrier on 12-3-2006. Since then, South Africa and India scored five, Sri Lanka
and New Zealand one each before Australia managed their second such total today.
* Second wicket stands have dominated the World Cup. So far, 2791 runs have been scored with a highest partnership of 372, Avg 59.38, including 11 hundreds and five fifties.
* Dawlat Zadran became the third bowler to concede 100 or more runs in a World Cup match after Martin Snedden (105) in 1983 and Jason Holder 104 in 2015.
* The win by 275 runs is the biggest margin in all World Cups in terms of runs. The previous biggest was the 257-run margin India beat Bermuda by in 2007 World Cup and South Africa beat West Indies in 2015 edition.
