Bin Hindi clan dominates jet ski championship in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Ace driver Nadir Bin Hindi and his son Ali Nadir Bin Hindi dominated their categories in the fourth round of the UAE Jet Ski Championship organised by the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club at the new beach on Abu Dhabi Corniche on Friday.

Nadir dominated the Pro Runabout Up to 1600cc class in style, winning his fourth race in a row to collect 240 points on his way to defend the title he won last season. Frenchman Lemione Cyrille came second to continue his chase to snatch the first place form Nadir. He collected 195 points and, with two rounds to come, he still has a chance of finishing the season as champion.

However, Nadir could secure the title in the next round, which will be held in Abu Dhabi in March.

Ali won the Ski Limited Up to 800cc class, followed by compatriots Al Murr Bin Huraiz and Rashid Abdulla in second and third place respectively. Al Murr leads the standings with 233 points, while Ali is second with 199 points.

Frenchman Caumont Ludovic won the Pro Ski Up to 900cc class to take sole leadership of the class in the overall standings with 219 points. His countryman and former joint leader Steven Daullach finished fourth to take second place in the standings with 202 points, while Briton Chris Wilkinson came second to increase his overall tally to 182 points - good enough for third place overall.

Japanese Takehiro Ohara surprised his competitors to win the Runabout Stock Up to 1600cc class, normally dominated by Kuwaiti drivers. Ohara was followed by Wilkinson in second place and Kuwaiti driver Saud Juma came third. but Class leader Mohammad Bu Rabie, from Kuwait, finished fourth to increase his tally in the overall standings to 232 points.
