It was friends reunited as Australia superstars David Warner and Steve Smith were on opposing sides when Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Rajasthan Royals in Dubai on Thursday.

Warner won the toss and put Rajasthan in to bat. Ben Stokes (30) made a bright start as fellow opener Robin Uthappa fell for 19.

Sanju Samson seemed to rediscover his batting form to a certain extent as he added 36 at No. 3 for Rajasthan.

Rashid Khan accounted for Stokes, but it was another Sunrisers bowler that was grabbing the early attention.

Jason Holder took 3-33, including Uthappa, Smith and Riyan Parag as Rajasthan were limited to 154-6.

Warner was confident of chasing down their target in Dubai after Holder had done the damage.

However the Sunrisers were reeling as Warner walked for only four runs and fellow opener Jonny Bairstow could only manage 10.

In the end, Pandy (83) and Shankar (52) remained unbeaten and the Sunrisers eased home comfortably for an eight-wicket win with 11 balls to spare.
