Diwali 2020: From Kareena Kapoor's party to Sanjay Dutt's Dubai trip, here's a look at how Bollywood celebrates the Festival of Lights

Bollywood breaks new ground for Diwali 2020 with subdued celebrations and a focus on family. But that doesn’t mean all the glamour has seeped out of Tinsel Town – here’s how the stars are saving the festival, one celebration at a time.

Mommy-to-be Kareena Kapoor Khan attended a pre-Diwali bash at her manager Poonam Damania’s home in Mumbai on Tuesday. Kareena's mother, Babita, and close friend, Masaba Gupta, were also there. Damania shared photos from the party, writing: “Grateful for each day. No better way to enter the festive season than with my favourites #babitakapoor @kareenakapoorkhan @masabagupta.”

According to media reports actor Sanjay Dutt will have a low-key celebration in Dubai with his family this year. The superstar wants to spend some quality time with the family before he returns to the sets of ‘KGF 2’."

This Diwali will be really special for Vikrant Massey as he just bought his dream home. His entire family, including to-be bride Sheetal Thakur, will mark the festival together. He was last seen in web film ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’.

Actor-producer Tusshar Kapoor said that there will be no Diwali party in his house this year. The reason is his father, yesteryears star Jeetendra, was a close friend of actor Rishi Kapoor, who died in April 2020. For the Kapoors the Festival of Lights is all about spending time with family this year.

Actress Bhumi Pednekar, who has launched an environment protection initiative called ‘Climate Warrior’, has come up with an innovative idea this Diwali to gift gifting saplings to her industry friends and colleagues. “The reason behind gifting saplings to my family, friends, and colleagues comes from a very simple thought of spreading green joy on Diwali. I am a climate warrior and while I absolutely love the spirit of Diwali, the festivities and gifting our near and dear ones, I thought this year I should start by changing the way I give gifts to people.” Pednekar said.

Amitabh Bachchan and his family host a grand Diwali party every year but it looks like they are skipping tradition. Apart from being conscious about living in times of the pandemic, the Bachchans are mourning the death of a family member, Ritu Nanda, who was Shweta Bachchan‘s mother-in-law, and close friend Rishi Kapoor .

Mouni Roy is quite active on social media and keeps fans posted about her day-to-day activities. On Monday, she took to Instagram to share stunning pictures of herself wearing traditional attire. The actress looked stunning in red ethnic wear.

Janhvi Kapoor is in a festive mood. Looking pretty in pink, she captioned her sari pic: “Diwali is almost here!”

Rakul Preet Singh will celebrate the Festival of Lights twice – once in Hyderabad with friends and once with street kids as she does each year.
