Celebs get domesticated in coronavirus quarantine

The coronavirus lockdown in various parts of the globe has resulted celebrities switching on their inner Marie Kondo and Martha Stewart as they take to domesticity with aplomb. In Bollywood, Katrina Kaif seems to be leading the charge, what with her dishwashing tutorial and demonstrating how to sweep floors while her sister Isabelle Kaif captures all the antics for Instagram.

While Kaif is busy cleaning, her rumoured boyfriend Vicky Kaushal is also taking a page out of her book to demonstrate how he’s cleaning fans at home, while posting a video to demonstrate the art of perfectly flipping an omelet.

Kartik Aaryan is also trying his hand in the kitchen, first, by washing dishes, and once again by baking a cake for his sister Kittu. “Lockdown ka fayda (What’s the advantage of a lockdown?) - Celebrating Kittu’s bday together after 7 years [sic]. Chota Cake Banane gaya, Bada Biscuit ban gaya (I went to make a small cake, and ended making a big biscuit).”

Alia Bhatt also took to showing off her baking skills with her sister Shaheen by her side. “Stayed home & .. baked a little with the sister @shaheenb made the real chocolate cake & I made the grain free paleo banana bread.” The pictures are on her Instagram for the world to see.

Kriti Sanon also tried her hand at baking a ‘banana cake’. The actress tweeted: “When you wanna bake Banana Bread but you don’t have the correct vessel..and you end up calling it “cake”!” The ‘Luka Chuppi’ star also channeled Marie Kondo and tried to declutter her wardrobe as well during the Indian lockdown.

Deepika Padukone showed off her cooking skills during her Instagram lockdown with husband Ranveer Singh. We can't find fault with everything she's cooked up. And full marks on presentation as well.

Elsewhere in Hollywood, Mindy Kaling took to organizing her bathroom. “When quarantined, clean the bathroom,” the actress wrote. She later took things up a notch by baking “Cakey cookies made possible by borrowed flour from @ikebarinholtz”

‘Little Women’ actress Florence Pugh is spending her time creatively during self-isolation. The actress has kicked off her ‘Cooking With Flo’ series sharing recipes of dishes such as ratatouille and butternut squash soup, and whipping up homemade ice cream to impress us.

Jennifer Garner is also baking up a storm when not reading bedtime stories to kids. The actress took to Instagram to post: “#PretendCookingShow: English muffins. At the top of the comfort food list around here: @huckcafe’s Homemade English Muffins. There is a fresh batch quickly disappearing from my counter and I thought you might like them, too. I am reposting my own #PretendCookingShow (is that even allowed?) I was thinner then, but am happier now. 😊 (Quarantine note: if your pantry looks sketchy— milk with vinegar/lemon juice = buttermilk. Billionaire Kylie Jenner is also finding time to step away from her fashion shoots and make-up line to post images of her cooking in her Insta stories. Last month’s matzo ball soup looks to die for. The ramen, not so much. But we all have our preferences.
