Cricket fans take to social media to vent over the cancellation of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) meeting that was supposed to take place on Monday with Pakistan Cricket Board chief (PCB) Shahryar Khan.

#BCCI / #SenaAttack - These two hashtags are trending as Twitter users are furious over the cancellation of the meeting due to protests by Shiv Sena activists, who according to news reports, stormed the office chanting slogans for PCB chief to leave. They criticise the attack and call for an urgent solution to such unprofessional behaviour, that ruins the spirit of sportsmanship.

@iAshoo: “The so called modern and liberal face of India was seen today following the #SenaAttack”

@AmanBansal4u: “Today cricket is lost in Mumbai. I am surprised why #SenaAttack wasn’t there in Melbourne, Australia on February 15, 2015. #PCB #BCCI #PakvsInd #IndvsPak”

@MurtazaGeoNews: “Shiv Sena storms BCCI office, shout anti-Pakistan slogans ahead of meeting with PCB. And India lectures others on extremism?”

@FatimaAli52: “This is the reality of digital India. Shiv Sena activists attack @BCCI office in Mumbai against a recent visit of PCB Chairman.”

@gauravcsawant: “A gentleman’s game is played with gentlemen, and not with official state sponsors of terror. @BCCI & @PMOIndia must keep national security first...”

@waglenikhil: “A group of Shiv Shena activists gather near busy Churchgate, enters BCCI premises and the police are ignorant about it! Do you believe this? History repeats!”

@babumoshoy: “Shiv Sena storms BCCI headquarters seeking transparency and punishment for fixers. #HeadlineYouWouldNeverSee”

@AzharKhagga1: “#ShevSena protest and storming to the #BCCI against Indo-pak cricket meeting is a slap on India’s face which claims to be a secular state...”
