I have been living in Ras Al Khaimah for the past five years.

The emirate has achieved marvels in the past two years in the fields of education, health and business, but what upsets me are the roads. They are supposed to have proper markings to separate the lanes, but none can be seen on the streets here.

You can see cars driving haphazardly and occupying any part of the road they like. This is a problem for drivers as they don't know which lane to take and it creates chances for accidents to happen.

From a driver's point of view, road markings are important to avoid accidents and to ensure the safety of passengers and pedestrians. This is an urgent problem that has to be looked at by the Ras Al Khaimah transport authority.

Another problem faced by residents in Ras Al Khaimah is the number of heavy vehicles on the roads at all times of the day, especially during peak hours. Oman Road especially is narrow and prone to accidents and traffic jams. I request this matter also be looked into for the safety and security of the people.
