Irresponsible driving puts everyone at risk

Gulf News reader Sylvia Munavar took this photo to highlight how dangerous driving with a child on your lap can be and to caution motorists to follow the rules of the road, designed to keep everyone safe. She said: “I recently moved to Dubai and received my drivers licence two weeks ago. In spite of all the safety measures our driving instructors teach us while getting our licenses, I was surprised to see a father driving car with baby on his lap while driving down Corniche Road one night. This could have caused resulted in an accident, endangering the driver, the child and the other motorists should the child have pulled on the steering wheel or disturbed the father. Small children should always be accompanied by an adult other than the driver, and violators need to be fined.”
