Health-care provider gives Dh1m in aid for Somalia

Abu Dhabi: A total of Dh1 million has been donated by Abu Dhabi-based health-care provider VPS Healthcare to the Emirates Red Crescent’s Somalia efforts.

A statement sent by VPS on Tuesday said the donation is part of the company’s charity initiatives during the UAE’s Year of Giving.

The Emirates Red Crescent announced earlier that it is seeking to raise Dh500 million to assist the needy in famine-stricken Somalia.
