Dubai: The Global Village, a member of Tatweer and one of the region's most popular cultural, entertainment and shopping venues, on Saturday announced it will showcase participants from more than 45 countries during the 14th season.

For the forthcoming season to be held from November 22 to February 27 the Global Village has rented out all pavilion spaces within a short time, following the overwhelming response from organisers since registration opened last May.

The Global Village continues to accept registration for kiosks, services and retail outlets that are in high demand for their vast consumer footfall.

Currently, the Global Village administration team is scrutinising the applications for the 100 kiosks that are available for lease.

Suitable to display and sell products ranging from food to handicrafts, the kiosks on offer this year are of various sizes and located around the pavilions, cultural hub and funfair grounds.

Saeed Ali Bin Reda, Project Director, Global Village, said: "We are gearing up to host yet another successful event. This year, the number of applications received from event management companies registered a significant increase and the vetting process for pavilions and entertainment programmes involved stringent evaluation criteria.

"In addition to the regular must-visit attractions, the venue will feature a number of unique offerings that will make each visit to the Global Village a compelling family outing."

Located in Dubailand, the Global Village has evolved as the region's premier family venue where cultures from around the world come together for entertainment, adventure, cuisine and commerce.

The previous season of the annual event that hosted 35 countries closed on February 21, 2009, receiving a total of 4.4 million visitors over 102 days.
