It's all about change
'Nothing endures but change'. Change is an essential part of our lives. Everything around us changes and we are involved in this process. Change is a reality that we should not resist or avoid; on the contrary we should embrace.
Every one of us hopes to change in a way or another.
Evertyt ime a new president is elected or appointed, we expect him/her to bring change, obviously not any kind of change — a positive one.
So when change hits us, what do we do, how do we deal with it? Each one of us has his/her own way of dealing with change, some welcomes it with open arms, and others just try to resist it.
The best thing one can do is to take change gradually and deal with it in small dozes, because sometimes-dramatic changes do fireback, so instead of being helpful and positive they turn out to be the opposite of what you were expecting or what you have planned for.
Speaking of changes, this week happen to be my last week at Gulf News/Notes and in Dubai.
I am excited about moving to another country, but at the same time, worried. However, these mixed feelings will definitely go away once I settle in, in the new country that I am heading to. Once again it is a matter of time and it depends on how I will take change.
In my case I have to embrace it and move forward with it, and this is what I will do, indeed.
However, I will definitely miss Dubai, my work, colleagues and my life in here.
