UAE residents produce Malayalam film ‘Mazhayathu’

UAE businessman Nikesh Ram made his film debut with Athithi — the Tamil remake of Malayalam film Cocktail. Ram now returns with a family drama titled Mazhayathu directed by Indian National Award-winning filmmaker Suveeran.

Ram plays Venugopal, a father with a teenaged daughter. An incident in his daughter’s life shatters the family, making Venugopal the target of suspicion. Aparna Gopinath and child actor Nandana Varma play supporting roles.

Ram is also the co-producer of Mazhayathu, made by Spellbound Films Inc, a company he founded with four other UAE residents — Brijesh T.C. Firos M.P, Sajith K.P, and Sarith K.P.

Mazhayathu released in Kerala on May 25.
