Jackie Gleason’s nickname was ‘The Great One.’ But his landmark sitcom, ‘The Honeymooners’ is being ranked below a so-called ‘show about nothing’ as the greatest sitcom ever.
A new poll in the latest comedy-inspired issue of Vanity Fair has listed ‘Seinfeld’ as the greatest sitcom of all time. The show starring Jerry Seinfeld beat ‘The Honeymooners’ with 20 per cent of the vote, followed by ‘Friends’ and ‘Cheers.’ ‘Arrested Development’ received seven per cent of the vote, ‘Mary Tyler Moore’ six per cent and ‘30 Rock’ five per cent.
