The Scene team on what they're doing, eating, wearing and watching this week...
I love this time of year in Dubai – especially since it gives me a chance to swan around in the sunshine sans ‘glow’ and then debut my fave new winter buys after dark. So, I’ll be channelling Rosie HW in my new fluffy gilet, then, after their superb launch party last night, I’ll be treating my BFFs to dinner and cocktails on Saturday at Wafi’s fab new foodie hangout, The W Grill and Cocktail Terrace – and ignoring the main courses altogether so I can indulge in the unlimited dessert menu instead. Who doesn’t love a sugar rush, eh? Then on Wednesday, I’m off to the Aigner Boutique at Dubai Mall to check out next season’s gorgeous new Cinematic collection, and to snap up one of their luxe leather bags that I’ll be getting personalised by the brand’s very own Bag Master on the night. Shopping, cake and more shopping. What’s not to love?

As party season draws ever closer, it’s time to hit the shops and start planning those soiree ensembles. First up, I’m hitting one of Dubai’s coolest new boutiques, Rivaage at Beach Road’s Sunset Mall, to coo over their amazing and eclectic collection of international designer goodies. Aside from the incredible clothes, I’m totally awestruck by the four massive tree trunks that divide the store into mini boutiques of their own. Yes really – giant tree trunks. It’s a real-life fashion fairytale! And while I ponder my party-princess wardrobe, the new season heels at Manolo Blahnik keep dancing into my daydreams. And since I’m behaving like a kid in a sweet shop in the fashion sense, it would be rude not to pay a visit to my newest addiction, the It’sugar store at Mall of the Emirates. Maybe it’s the dancing staff? Maybe it’s the cute retro gifts? Nuh-uh. It’s because it makes me feel like I’m hanging out in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. And yes, before you ask, I am totally channelling the Augustus Gloop vibe when I’m there.

Since its release, I’ve not stopped listening to Ceremonials by Florence And The Machine, there’s no doubt it’s the best album I’ve heard in ages, plus her performance on the X Factor was just jaw-dropping. If I can tear myself away from my iPod I am planning to head to Cavalli Club because I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, so this weekend I’m going to don the gorgeous dress that I picked up in Topshop this week and get dolled up for a much-needed night out! At the other end of the glamour spectrum, there’s a certain movie coming out this weekend, that I, along with most of the female population, am very excited about – it’s Breaking Dawn time! It’s been faaar too long since I have enjoyed R-Patz on the big screen, plus with Kristen Stewart being positively tolerable on the press tour for this movie I’m looking forward to the idea that she might not drive me mental onscreen, let’s see...
