Philippines’ top singing couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez back in Dubai

Dubai: The last time they visited Dubai in 2010, they were Philippine showbiz’s most intriguing singing love birds. Now they’re back – officially as husband-and-wife – and still the country’s hottest vocal pair. Prolific singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez, dubbed Asia’s Songbird, will once again serenade their fans in the emirate with their classic and current hits. The award-winning singing couple will perform in Dubai on July 5 at Al Wasl Sports Complex.

This time, fans in the UAE will have a chance to sing along with their favourite musical couple. Filipinos who possess enough musical prowess can live their dream performing alongside two of the Philippines’ biggest musical artists.

The Filipino couple who think they have what it takes to sing on stage with Regine and Ogie can join the “Sing Like the Songbird and the Songwriter” contest. Registration is now open at Comedy Junction in Dubai (call 056-7841399 or 050-4687449). Elimination rounds will take place at the comedy bar on the June 14 and 21, with the grand finals on June 28. The winner will get a cash prize of Dh2,000, and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sing with Ogie and Regine at their concert.
