Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko arrested for 'drug use': Reports

Dubai: Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has been arrested following a complaint filed by a lead actress, alleging drug use on set. The incident, which reportedly took place during the shoot of an upcoming film, has sparked renewed conversations about substance abuse in the film industry and the responsibilities of its high-profile figures.

According to an NDTV report, the police in Kerala charged him under Sections 27 (consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Shine Tom Chacko, known for his intense performances in films like Ishq. He’s no stranger to controversy. In 2015, he was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in a high-profile drug case, though he later resumed his career with critically acclaimed roles.

His latest arrest, however, has once again thrust him into the spotlight—for reasons far removed from cinema.
