The death of Bollywood actor Sidharth Shukla was as sudden as it was shocking. The 40-year-old died on Thursday after suffering a major cardiac arrest. Mumbai's Cooper Hospital confirmed the news of his death. Fellow actors and stars expressed their shock on Twitter. The hospital said that the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ contestant had taken some sleeping pills and just didn’t wake up.

Shukla was well known for his friendship with ‘Bigg Boss’ co-contestant Shehnaaz Gill, with whom he stared in several music videos.

Shukla debuted as a lead in ‘Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na’ in 2008. Come 2014, he landed a supporting role in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. He became best known for his stints in reality shows ‘Bigg Boss 13’ and ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7’, both of which he won. He hosted ‘Savdhaan India’ and ‘India's Got Talent’.
