Mena Telecom poised to bid for NFWS licence

Dubai: Mena Telecom, an investment subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain), yesterday said its board of directors has approved to bid for the National Fixed Wireless Services (NFWS) licence auction.

Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat, chairman of Mena Telecom and General Manager of Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain), said, "We are pleased that the telecom market continues to open up in Bahrain and we have submitted a bid for the National Fixed Wireless Services licence for Mena Telecom.

"In Mena Telecom, our aim is to develop the company into a major player in the telecom sector in Bahrain and the region, and we are pleased with the progress and achievement of Mena Telecom throughout 2006."

Mena Telecom is a licensed telecommunications company based in Bahrain.
