Sharjah Airport ready for busy pilgrimage season

Airport completes preparation with plans to deploy additional personnel

Sharjah: Sharjah International Airport is gearing up for a sharp increase in passenger traffic for Hajj pilgrimage 2012 when airlines start increasing their Haj flights. The airport is expecting to cater a large number of airlines expected to carry the Haj pilgrims. In preparation for a further increase in traffic for the Haj, the airport plans to deploy additional personnel and dedicated counters to handle the movement of thousands of pilgrims travelling through the airport. Sharjah Airport Authority held several meeting during last period attended by representatives from Department of Civil Aviation, Passport Control Section, Airport’s Police Section, Sharjah Aviation Service and Alpha Flights Services to exchange views and make suggestions that contribute to the comfort of the pilgrims.
