Fuel costs bite into Jazeera Airways half year results

Group chairman says earnings were hit by fuel costs and re-routing due to regional unrest

Dubai: Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways announced a second quarter net profit of 2.8 million Kuwaiti dinars (Dh36.4 million), down 28.3 per cent on last year’s second quarter.

While the company reported a 4.9 million dinar profit for the first six months of the year, it was down 32.5 per cent on the first half of 2013.

Jazeera Airways Group chairman Marwan Boodai stated that the earnings were hit by fuel costs and flight re-routing due to regional unrest.
