Dubai: Dubai Airports has launched a real-time navigation tool - DXB Express Maps – to guide passengers across Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) hyper-busy terminals during the busy holiday period.

The DXB Express Maps is a smart wayfinding tool that provides real-time navigation across all terminals. By scanning a QR code displayed on any flight information screen, passengers can locate their gate, browse the dining and retail options, or quickly find nearby facilities. The DXB Express Maps launch comes as DXB braces for a holiday surge “unlike any other”, with more than 3.6 million (total) guests expected to pass through its terminals during the Eid travel peak from March 26 to April 7. The busiest day of the period is forecast for Saturday, April 5, when 309,000 travellers are expected.

Daily total traffic is set to average 276,000 passengers, with the sharpest rise projected in the first week of April. Departures during the Eid week are anticipated to surge by 19 per cent compared to average weekly volumes over the past month, reflecting a significant seasonal uplift, said Dubai Airports.

With schools breaking for spring, demand remains strong for key VFR (visiting friends and relatives) markets such as India, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom, alongside a notable rise in leisure travel, including increased traffic to Sri Lanka, Türkiye and Italy.

Dubai Airports has also added enhanced services for People of Determination (PoD) with clearly marked accessibility routes. Dubai Airport’s passenger traffic hit a record 92.3 million last year, and the world’s busiest international hub expects to handle more than 94 million passengers in 2025.
