Dubai: EDGE will unveil 42 new defence and advanced-technology products at Dubai Airshow 2025, marking one of its largest single-day expansions since the group’s launch six years ago.

The new systems span air, space, propulsion, smart weapons, radar technologies, and secure communications, underscoring the UAE’s push to establish a stronger sovereign industrial base and expand its global defence footprint.

Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, said the scale of launches reflects how far the organisation has evolved since its debut at Dubai Airshow in 2019.

“From a bold idea to a global force, we’ve now launched 42 new products in a single day and more than 250 across our portfolio. We are not only meeting the needs of the local market but competing globally, with over 53 per cent of our revenue now driven by exports,” he said.

New autonomous systems

A major highlight was Omen, a hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle that is part of the newly formed EDGE-Anduril Production Alliance. The partnership gives EDGE access to Anduril’s Lattice platform, an AI-driven command-and-control system to boost performance across future joint programmes.

Other autonomous additions include JERNAS-M, a compact medium-altitude, long-endurance UAV designed for persistent surveillance and precision strike; VORTEX-E, a system tailored for counter-drone interception; and STRIKE, a fixed-wing carrier built to extend tactical reach across medium-altitude missions.

More smart weapons

EDGE also introduced a new generation of smart weapons aimed at rapid deployment and cost-effective precision. These include WSM-1, a long-range cruise strike weapon with AI-assisted terminal retargeting; DARKWING, a modular autonomous strike system with interchangeable payloads; and THUNDER-ER, a kit that transforms legacy aerial munitions into smart stand-off weapons.

The group broadened its propulsion offering with new air-breathing piston, turbine, and microjet engines, alongside solid, liquid, and hybrid rocket motors. These systems are intended to support UAVs, loitering munitions, missiles, and future space-launch applications, while strengthening the UAE’s local supply chain.

Space technology

In the space domain, EDGE revealed ZENITH, a sovereign space operations and data-orchestration platform. ZENITH integrates imagery and sensor data from national, commercial, and allied satellites, giving operators a unified view for monitoring, tasking, and mission management in real time.

New radar systems include AL HARRIS X, an AESA radar optimised for short-range air defence and counter-drone missions, and AMES P, an airborne reconnaissance pod offering high-precision signal detection and advanced electronic-support features.

Completing the line-up is the KATIM GATEWAY X9000M, a compact, high-assurance encryption device designed to provide secure mobile connectivity across operational environments.

Growing global presence

Since its first appearance at Dubai Airshow in 2019 with 30 products, EDGE’s portfolio has expanded to 250, with 150 showcased at this year’s event. Strategic partnerships, sustained R&D investment, and rising international demand have helped the group grow exports to more than half its total revenue.

EDGE is exhibiting under the theme “Always Ahead Always Above” at its main stand (520) and outdoor stand (S34).
