Reader Ram Pancholia has been subscribed for 40 years
Dubai: Sixty-eight-year-old Ram Pancholia digs deep into his memory to remember the day in 1978 he subscribed to Gulf News; he had arrived in Dubai at age 18 only ten years earlier. He has been involved in manufacturing and trading ever since he arrived. Calling the city “his heart and home” he has become accustomed to the life here and said that Gulf News is a an important part of that.
Ten years after initially arriving in the country, he said, the newspaper offered him a subscription and he has stuck to it ever since.
Waking up at dawn every day, he makes sure that his morning tea is accompanied by the paper.
Gulf News’ extensive coverage of news from the subcontinent has made it Pancholia’s chosen source of daily information.
He also appreciates reading Gulf News for the impartial information it provides. He said, “I’ve stuck to Gulf News for its unbiased news.” The Dubai resident also said that he sometimes reads other publications online and that has made him even more appreciative of Gulf News for its unbiased reporting.
Even when he is travelling, he added, he doesn’t go a day without reading Gulf News. He said that he appreciates that the newspaper has a website that he can access from anywhere.
Over the years, his reading practices have transferred to his family. As a father of three; a son and two daughters; the tradesman thinks it’s important to instil a strong reading habit in his children. Some of whom also subscribe to Gulf News.
They enjoy reading the news, supplement sections and particularly like receiving Friday Magazine on their weekends, Pancholia added.
