Celebrities pack Chanel’s Miami Beach show
Chanel ambassadors, VIPs and celebrities packed Miami Beach earlier this week where Chanel presented its Cruise 2022/23 collection
With their feet in the white sand, and entertainment by Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers & CHIC, guests unwound and watched Chanel’s presentation of its Cruise 2022/23 collection in Miami Beach earlier this week. The relaxed atmosphere and stunning location was full of celebrities and Maison ambassadors like Lily-Rose Depp, Marion Cotillard, Caroline de Maigret, Phoebe Tonkin, and actresses Ella Balinska and Arden Cho, as well as actor and model Andrés Velencoso.
Unveiled at the five-star Faena Hotel in the heart of Miami Beach, the show was presented against a set designed by Oscar-winning director Hollywood director Baz Luhrmann known for Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet, and The Great Gatsby. Collaborating with costume designer Catherine Martin, Luhrmann went with a classic Caribbean vibe with red deckchairs and red and white sun shades.
Chanel’s ’23 Cruise collection also inspired a film created by Sofia and Roman Coppola, mixing scenes from the collection’s premiere in Monte Carlo earlier this year with signature Miami shots of Art Deco buildings and miles-long rows of palm trees.
The French Maison specifically chose Miami as a stopover thanks to a link between Chanel and the famous Florida destination that goes way back to the 1920s when Chanel No 5 was first launched in the US. More recently, for the Chanel Cruise 2008/09 collection Karl Lagerfeld made a stopover in Miami at the iconic Raleigh Hotel, a true landmark in Miami Beach.
Once the show was over guests were treated to a musical performance and the following day, in the Faena Hotel, president of Chanel’s Fashion activities Bruno Pavlovsky hosted a discussion for some 190 students alongside Pharrell Williams and French model Caroline de Maigret.
The stunning Chanel Cruise ’23 collection is available in boutique from today, November 8, in the United States, and the rest of the world from November 16, so get ready to soak up the sun.
