Find your nearest mosque and learn Arabic, with new updated website from Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department

New site aims to bring more services online, especially for People of Determination.

Dubai: Dubai residents can find their nearest mosque, sign up for Quran memorisation classes, or Arabic language courses through the newly revamped website of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) - iacad.gov.ae.

The latest version of the website was launched on Wednesday, July 12, by the Director General of IACAD Dr Hamad Al Shaikh Ahmed Al Shaibani.

He said that the launch of the website is in accordance of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice -President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

“Since Dubai government services have established an advanced model centered around achieving customer happiness, from this point of view IACAD has adopted a new methodology to develop and improve all its online services.”

Important features in the new website

Sheikha Sultan Al Marri, Director of Communications and Marketing, explained that the updated website takes into account the application of the ‘seven-star standards’ in website development set by the Global Star Rating System for Services, and applying the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for global web standards.

Additionally, she also explained that the revamped website pays attentions to the needs of People of Determination.

“The website also now displays the organisational structure of department, which helps the user identify the employees and the departments apart of IACAD, and the Site Map has been redesigned for visitors to get direct access to information and the latest news,” she said.

How the new IACAD website pays attention to People of Determination

According to Mohammed Bassam Maree, IACAD Projects Manager, who spoke to Gulf News on the sidelines of the event, the revamped website was aimed to provide a better user experience for all visitors.

“The data presented on the website is more structured, the website has been redesigned to improve the full journey of the users. We have also focused on People of Determination and improved the accessibility,” he said.

“This includes including font size control, stop animation, text spacing and allowing visitors to change the colours on the site,” he said.

“Also, the new service cards on the website helps customers get a comprehensive and accurate understanding of the requirements,” he added.

The website ensures that people who would normally visit IACAD’s office are able to access services online.
