Dubai Ambulance, American Hospital Dubai sign agreement to boost health-care collaboration

Entities highlight role of innovation in strengthening UAE’s health-care system

Dubai: As part of Expo 2020 Dubai’s UAE Innovation Week, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) and American Hospital Dubai (AHD) signed an agreement today to boost collaboration in health-care services.

Both entities also spoke about the role of innovation in strengthening the UAE’s health-care system during the signing of the agreement at the United States Pavilion.

Khalifa Al Darrai, executive director of DCAS, said: “Today, we meet at Expo 2020 Dubai, home of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ to discuss how we can innovate to create change. This is in line with the country’s directions towards the next 50 years. We have government institutions, the private sector, companies, individuals and entrepreneurs in the health industry, all collaborating for this goal.”

‘Advanced digital technologies’

Sherif Bishara, Group CEO of the Mohamed and Obaid Almulla Group — owner group of the American Hospital in Dubai, added: “The UAE Innovation Week at Expo 2020 is an ideal opportunity for AHD to explore the future of innovation and talk about advanced digital technologies and solutions that contribute significantly to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the health-care sector in the country. This event also contributes towards establishing the UAE’s position as a global model of innovation, technology and intelligent digital transformation.”

Use of artificial intelligence

The signing of the agreement was preceded by an Innovation Forum, focusing on digital initiatives and technological innovations, including robotic surgery, big data and use of artificial intelligence in health-care services.
