Munnar, Kerala: A one-year-old baby girl who fell out of a moving car had a miraculous escape in Kerala's Munnar region of Idukki district on Sunday, September 8, ANI has tweeted.

The child's parents reportedly dozed off and did not realise that their child had fallen off the vehicle until they reached their home some 50 kilometres away.

The incident happened at Rajamalai in Idukki on Sunday night.

The child fell from the vehicle near a forest check post and the entire incident was captured on CCTV.

The CCTV footage shows the SUV passing a deserted stretch after which the toddler can be seen on the road.

The child sustained minor injuries due to the fall but she reportedly crawled on all fours to the nearby forest office. Staff on duty at the check post spotted the girl crawling in the middle of the road and rescued her.

She was handed over to the parents the next morning after providing medical treatment, reports local media.

According to news reports the family was returning from neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu after visiting Palani, a Hindu pilgrimage centre.
