Lecture on development of internet to be held

A free lecture on how the internet will develop is planned for Dubai Knowledge Village this evening.

How the internet will affect everyday lives is the focus of the talk being delivered by Dr Henry S Thompson from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

"In a relatively short period of time, this technology has revolutionised the way we access information, conduct business and interact with each other," Thompson said.

"As technology has developed, the internet has become more accessible, making it easier for non-technical people to use.

"Throughout the talk, I will pay particular attention to the impact of the internet and the world wide web on everyday life."

Thompson's lecture, titled The Future of the Internet, will be held at the British University (Building 17) at 6pm.
