The Ministry of Education has denied any modifications to school hours for students at the start of the new academic year 2025–2026.
In an announcement detailing the official timings for public school students in the upcoming academic year, the Ministry affirmed via a post on its official account on X: “We wish all students the best of luck and success.”
The Ministry dismissed circulating claims on social media regarding a decision to alter official school hours for public school students at any grade level, including kindergarten.
It further confirmed that it has not published any official material on its channels or social media accounts concerning such changes, urging the public to rely exclusively on the Ministry’s official and verified sources for accurate information.
The Ministry of Education, on Saturday, announced the approved school hours for public school students for the upcoming academic year.
Kindergarten
Classes will run Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Cycle One (Grades 1–4)
Option One: Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:25 p.m., and on Fridays from 7:15 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.
Option Two: Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Cycles Two and Three (Grades 5–12)
Boys: Monday to Thursday, from 7:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., and on Fridays until 10:35 a.m.
Girls: Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The Ministry reiterated today that the rumours about shortening school days for students are unfounded.
