Ajman: Ajman Police have launched a dedicated nursery for the children of female inmates at the Punitive and Correctional Institution, marking a new step in the force’s ongoing efforts to enhance its humanitarian and social services.

The facility was inaugurated by Brigadier General Khalid Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, in the presence of Colonel Mohammad Mubarak Al Ghafli, Director of the Punitive and Correctional Institution, along with several senior officers.

Brig Al Nuaimi said the initiative reflects Ajman Police’s commitment to providing a safe, nurturing environment for young children while ensuring peace of mind for incarcerated mothers. He noted that the project aligns with the UAE’s broader values of compassion, care and social responsibility.

During the tour, officials reviewed the nursery’s modern amenities, including recreational spaces, a dedicated play area and healthcare services designed to support both the children and their mothers. The aim, Brig Al Nuaimi said, is to offer an environment that meets their emotional and developmental needs away from the confines of the correctional facility.

He added that Ajman Police will continue to expand its social and humanitarian initiatives in line with national efforts to promote justice, rehabilitation, and reintegration, underscoring the UAE’s commitment to upholding dignity and human rights for all members of society.
