Dubai: Get ready, Dubai! The Filipino Social Club (FilSoc) is set to light up the Dubai World Trade Centre on June 14, 2025, with a spectacular celebration of Filipino culture, unity, and pride. In honor of the 127th Philippine Independence Day, this landmark event is open to all nationalities and promises an unforgettable day filled with color, creativity, and community spirit.

This year’s theme — “Filipino pride: Embracing diversity, celebrating unity and love of country” — sets the tone for a day-long cultural extravaganza that highlights the richness of Filipino heritage while embracing the vibrant multicultural spirit of the UAE.

“This year’s celebration is more than a tribute to our independence — it’s an expression of who we are as a people, and how our culture continues to evolve and inspire, even far from home,” says Ericson Reyes, President of the Filipino Social Club Dubai.

From electrifying dance competitions to youth-powered tech showcases, it’s a full celebration of what it means to be Filipino today.

What’s in store? Everything!

In an exclusive interview with Gulf News, Zyra Rey, Public Relations Officer of FilSoc Dubai, gave us a sneak peek into the program — and it’s nothing short of spectacular.

“We’re bringing a fusion of tradition and innovation,” Rey shared. “From electrifying dance competitions to youth-powered tech showcases, it’s a full celebration of what it means to be Filipino today. We’re blending tradition with modern creativity to give people a deeper connection to Filipino identity, while celebrating the diversity that makes our community so dynamic. It’s about honoring our roots while celebrating how far we’ve come — as individuals, and as a global community.”

The theme aligns with the UAE’s “Year of Community”, making the event a meaningful bridge between cultures and generations.

Key program highlights include the Philippine Festivals Dance Competition, a Mr. and Ms. Kalayaan 2025 pageant spotlighting multicultural Filipino youth. There will also be a Munting Ginoo at Binibining Kalayaan Filipiniana Fashion Show, and a Philippine Choral Festival.

From planning to performance, this event is powered by the Filipino community itself, with a huge emphasis on youth participation.

“Young volunteers, creatives, and influencers have truly shaped this year’s program,” Rey says. “They’re injecting fresh energy — whether it’s through cosplay, modern performances, or artistic expressions of Filipino identity. It’s their way of honoring the past while creating the future.”

With over 40 accredited Filipino groups contributing to the event, the sense of community is not just visible — it’s electric.
