* Shakib Al Hassan became the first Bangladeshi to score 4,000 runs in ODIs. He now has 4,040 runs. Following him is his teammate Tamim Iqbal, who has 3,990 runs and is sure to achieve the landmark in this World Cup.

* Bangladesh’s 267 is their highest total in ODIs where they lost all 10 wickets. Their previous highest was 265 all out against New Zealand at Mirpur in 2013. However, they managed to win both games.

* This is also Bangladesh’s highest total in any ODI in Australia. Their previous best was just 147 against Australia at Cairns in 2003.

* The stand of 114 between Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim is Bangladesh’s first 100-plus partnership in any World Cup.

* This is Bangladesh’s sixth ODI win in a row since November 21, 2014, after they beat Zimbabwe 5-0 at home. However, their best sequence remains their nine wins in a row from October 2006 to February 2007.

* Bangladesh have now won four of their last six World Cup games. During this period, they have beaten Ireland, England, Netherlands and now Afghanistan.

* The winning margin of 105 runs is Bangladesh’s biggest in any World Cup match in terms of runs.
