Recently, I noticed that Bee’ah (environmental management company working with Sharjah Municipality) has taken an appreciable step towards caring for the environment in Sharjah Emirate. Adjacent to the garbage dumps in the market areas, they have kept big bins for collecting cardboard and paper waste. The idea is that the shopkeepers and public do not throw such waste in the waste bins. The special bins are big in size and are quite easily and prominently noticeable.
People have started using them. They throw the cardboard and paper in these bins and at times, they become quite stuffed. I regularly see Bee’ah workers removing the material from bins early in the morning when I go down to wait for my school bus.
Despite such an easy arrangement, I notice some careless people just throwing the cardboards around. They do not take care to dispose it in a proper manner. The waste lies on the ground neglected. Such behaviour is callous and insensitive.
The government is trying its best to make our lives better, surroundings beautiful and hygienic. It is our call now. We all must support the good initiatives. Public need to respond and come up to the mark.
I urge all readers to take a note of this. Please dispose properly and at the appropriate place.
