Dubai: A flyer bound to the UAE got the surprise of a lifetime when the aircraft’s pilot got down on one knee to pop the question.
First Officer Richard Abu Manneh briefly stepped out of the cockpit last week to propose to his girlfriend during a Royal Jordanian flight to Dubai.
In the images shared by the airline on social media, the pilot was shown getting down on one knee in front of other flyers.
“Love was literally in the air on board Royal Jordanian’s flight to Dubai this morning,” the airline announced on Facebook and Twitter. “[The pilot] proposed to a very special passenger to his heart.”
The latest to join the mile-high club of romantic proposals in mid-air, the couple later hugged each other as fellow flyers looked on in amazement and took photographs.
Abu Manneh also handed a bouquet of red roses to his girlfriend.
“The Royal Jordanian family wishes them a lifetime of happiness,” the airline said.
Proposals at 35,000 feet never fail to tug at the heartstrings, such as the one witnessed years earlier aboard an Emirates flight.
