EMIRATES AIRLINES FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE KICKS OFF: The world’s leading international literary festival and the Arab world’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature will take place from 29 January to 13 February. This year’s event will be held at the Jameel Arts Centre, the InterContinental Dubai Festival City hotel and at Alserkal Avenue in full accordance with all health and safety rules and procedures.

LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE DRONE SHOW: The Beach opposite JBR and Bluewaters will host the final set of shows this weekend. A total of 300 drones will lift off at 7pm and at 9.30pm for the free shows that run until January 30. One performance, titled ‘Dubai, A City of Adventure’, will show how there’s so much to see and do in Dubai, with everyone’s favourite characters Modesh and Dana going on a journey to explore the city. The other show, titled ‘Dubai, From the Past to the Present’ will reveal the city’s journey and will feature the official DSF song ‘Dubai Kawkab Aakhar’ which translates to ‘Dubai is another planet’.
