After months of speculation, the makers of Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty and Vinayakan, finally gave fans something to cheer about with the release of a striking new poster on Sunday.

The update has reignited buzz around the film, which completed production in November 2024, and now appears to be inching closer to release.

The poster presents Mammootty in a rugged, intense avatar — seated with a cigarette, framed at the centre of a blood-red spider web. His knowing smile and menacing aura, paired with the tagline “The Venom Beneath”, hint at a dark and gripping storyline.

Sharing the poster, the film’s team teased: “What lies beneath is deadlier than you think 🔥 #Kalamkaval On The Way. Stay Tuned for More Updates.” Adding to the excitement, Mammootty himself unveiled the poster on X, writing, “#Kalamkaval In Cinemas Soon.”

The megastar’s new look has already sparked intense anticipation among fans, who are eager to see him once again balance mass appeal with a performance-driven role. His ominous presence in the poster suggests Kalamkaval could deliver one of his most intriguing characters yet.

Directed by debutant Jithin K Jose, the film features Mammootty in a morally complex role opposite Vinayakan, with Jibin Gopinath also part of the cast. The screenplay is co-written by Jithin and Jishnu Sreekumar.

Produced under Mammootty Kampany, the film brings together a strong technical crew, including cinematographer Faisal Ali, editor Praveen Prabhakar, and composer Mujeeb Majeed of Kishkindha Kaandam fame.

With its powerful visuals, evocative tagline, and Mammootty’s commanding screen presence, Kalamkaval is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases of the year.
