On May 24, South Korean actor Song Joong-ki made his Manila debut with his first-ever fan meeting in the Philippine. The event marked his introduction as the newest brand ambassador for Filipino wellness company IAM Worldwide. “This is my first time in Manila. When I was in Korea and Italy, I have Filipino friends there and they told me that Filipinos are cool, so I wanted to go to Manila to see and meet my fans,” said the actor, surprised by the huge turnout.

He took part in a candid Q&A session during the show. When asked why his dramas strike such a chord with Filipino fans, he playfully admitted he didn’t know the answer, even tossing the question back to the crowd. One fan shouted Bad boy image,' hinting at his appeal in such roles.

“I’m very grateful for all your love, and I’m very curious why you love my dramas so much,” he said. The session also touched on his drama Vincenzo. Joong-Ki pointed to the first episode’s vineyard fire and the final kiss scene as his most memorable moments from the show. “Of course, many scenes are memorable for me,” he added.

As for dream roles, the actor revealed he’d love to try a range of characters, including playing a “one-of-a-kind vampire” in a fantasy drama.

Song Joong Ki will next star in his upcoming drama My Youth, where he plays Hae Sun Woo, a florist.
