Abu Dhabi: The seventh Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) opened on Thursday at ADNEC Marina, running from November 20 to 23. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, this year’s edition is the biggest since the event began in 2018.

Organised by ADNEC Group, a Modon company, the show continues to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a major hub for maritime activity in the Middle East.

Record growth in exhibitors and global participation

Spread across 85,000 square metres, ADIBS 2025 features 1,068 exhibitors and brands — up 32% from last year. Participants from 56 countries are attending, including first-time representation from seven nations, reflecting the show’s rising international appeal.

Humaid Al Dhaheri, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADNEC Group, said the growth highlights Abu Dhabi’s ambition. “This event continues to grow year-on-year, attracting 1,068 exhibitors and brands. We have seen a strong rise in international participation, with 56 countries taking part. This growth reflects our dedication to staging world-class events that match the vision of our leadership,” he said.

Thirty-six new marine products and technologies are being launched at this edition. With 31% of exhibitors from the UAE and the remaining 69% from overseas, the show underscores its expanding global influence.

Industry leaders highlight innovation and collaboration

Ahmad Shaker, Chief Executive Officer of Capital 360 and Events, said ADIBS brings the entire marine sector together. “The Boat Show offers visitors a chance to explore life on the water. We aim to support business growth, encourage knowledge exchange, and advance the marine industry in Abu Dhabi,” he said. “This platform showcases the city’s role as a global hub for maritime innovation.”

New attractions to broaden audience appeal

This year’s edition includes 11 major experiences, five of them new. The standout addition is The Charter Show, where visitors can step aboard superyachts and explore the luxury charter market. The nearby Superyacht Lounge provides a space for networking, product showcases, and meetings with industry experts.

The Knowledge Box returns with talks, live demos, and sessions led by marine specialists. The SailGP team will share insights into the high-speed racing series and the upcoming Mubadala Abu Dhabi SailGP Grand Final, giving visitors a chance to meet professional sailors.

At the Navigation Hub, guests can try fast water rides or take scenic water taxi trips. The new Sunset Terrace offers a relaxed waterfront setting with sweeping views of the marina.

Family activities and entertainment across the Marina

Families can enjoy the expanded Young Voyager zone, designed for children to explore ocean life through hands-on activities. Live performers — including the Luma Drummers, Wave Dancers, and a roaming brass trio — add energy throughout the venue.

Evening entertainment features musicians and DJs on the main stage, with both local and international artists performing. On the final day, the Al Forsan Display Team will deliver an aerial show above the marina.

Captain ADIBS becomes the show’s visual icon

A standout attraction this year is Captain ADIBS, the world’s largest inflatable pool float, inspired by native UAE wetland species. Standing over 23 metres tall, it is in contention for a Guinness World Record™. Towering above the marina, the inflatable serves as the main visual symbol of the 2025 show, welcoming visitors from the moment they arrive.
