Saud leads inauguration of emirate's latest destination

Ras al Khaimah Abu Dhabi-based retailer LuLu opened the Dh400 million RAK Mall in Ras Al Khaimah along with its 100th LuLu hypermarket.

The new shopping mall and hypermarket were inaugurated by His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

Also present were Shaikh Mohammad Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mub-arak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Shaikh Ali Al Hashemi, Religious Adviser to the President of the UAE, Shaikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Finance Department, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority, Chairman of Tower Links Golf Club, Chairman of the Board of Director at Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar); Indian Ambassador to UAE M.K. Lokesh, LuLu Group Managing Director Yousuf Ali M.A. and number of high ranking government officers, representatives from the local business community, citizens and residents.

Shaikh Saud unveiled a plaque to commemorate the opening of the RAK Mall and also cut a cake to mark the grand opening of the shopping centre.

After the inauguration, the dignitaries toured the mall and LuLu hypermarket.

RAK Mall is a one million square foot complex spread over three levels.

The mall features a full line of amenities and facilities including international luxury and lifestyle brands, a food court, coffee shops, money exchange, dine-in outlets, a 22,000 square foot entertainment zone, a 5,000 square foot Ice Rink, the first of its kind in the city, prayer rooms and other facilities.

The shopping mall which was built with an investment of Dh400 million is expected to become the family shopping destination of choice for residents.

The hypermarket will showcase a fresh food section comprising fruit, vegetables, dairy products, meat, fish and hot and cold ready-to-eat food.

It also has a huge area dedicated to department store items such as electronics, IT products, home appliances, sports, stationery, furnishings and furniture.
