Dubai: A Saudi teacher was killed in a road accident on her way to school in the early hours of Monday, a crash that also claimed the life of the driver and left three other teachers injured, authorities said.
The accident occurred on the Medina-Qassim highway as the group of teachers travelled to their school in the remote village of Sufait.
Their vehicle overturned, resulting in the death of Siham Nasser Al Omari, while three of her colleagues sustained varying injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The driver, identified as Saleh Marshoud Al Maghadawi, also did not survive.
Mourners gathered at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina for funeral prayers following Asr prayer.
On social media, tributes poured in for Al Omari, with many expressing sorrow and extending condolences to the victims' families.
