RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Defence announced on Monday that five ballistic missiles were detected and intercepted heading towards the Eastern Region.

This was reported by the Saudi Press Agency, quoting Major General Turki Al-Malki, the official spokesperson for the ministry. The Saudi Ministry of Defence had earlier announced the detection and destruction of a cruise missile heading towards the same region.
