Supreme Court appeals to witnesses to report their observations to nearest court

Dubai: Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has called on Muslims across the Kingdom to look for the crescent moon marking the start of Ramadan, on the evening of Friday, 29th Sha`ban 1446 AH, as per the Umm Al Qura calendar, which corresponds to February 28, 2025.
The Supreme Court has appealed to those able to observe the crescent, either with the naked eye or using binoculars, to come forward and share their observations.
Moon-sighting witnesses are encouraged to present their findings to the nearest court or contact local centres for guidance on submitting their reports to the appropriate authorities.
The sighting of the Ramadan crescent is a significant event, as it marks the commencement of Ramadan, a sacred month of fasting, spiritual devotion, introspection, and unity for Muslims worldwide.
The ritual of observing the lunar crescent is a deeply ingrained tradition in Islam, essential for determining the start of Ramadan.
