Service facilitates labour transfer, offers multiple options for employers
Cairo: Saudi labour authorities have launched a CV upload service for domestic workers via a government platform to facilitate employees' transfer, marking the latest step in upgrading the sector.
The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources said the new service is an innovative method for facilitating the selection of workers based on their CVs and their transfer.
The service is so fully automated that employers get an easy access to domestic workers in the kingdom.
The service allows employees to upload their CVs detailing experience, upon termination of their contractual relationship with their employers, via Musaned , a government platform responsible for domestic labour affairs in Saudi Arabia.
Thus, employers get multiple options to search through CVs and make a selection based on the skills and professions that best meet their needs.
The ministry noted that the latest approach also helps preserve the rights of the employee and the employer alike.
Recently, Saudi authorities have sought to regulate the domestic labour market.
To this end, the Ministry of Human Resources launched Musaned to inform customers about their rights, duties, and services, including visa issuance, recruitment requests, and contracts between employers and workers.
The ministry emphasizes that contracting should occur via Musaned, the official recruitment platform.
In 2023, Saudi Arabia unveiled new rules for employing domestic workers, setting the minimum age at 21 to preserve contractual rights.
The regulations state that dues owed to workers, or their heirs, are considered first-degree debts. Contracts must have a fixed duration; if not, they will be deemed renewable for one year from the worker’s start date.
