Dubai: Kuwait's Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of prominent media figure Fajr Al Saeed for 21 days in pretrial custody over allegations linked to her public calls for normalisation with Israel.
The Ministry of Interior filed a formal complaint against Al Saeed, accusing her of actions deemed harmful to national interests and in violation of Kuwait’s Unified Law for Boycotting Israel (Law No. 21 of 1964).
The case has sparked significant public debate in Kuwait, where normalisation with Israel is firmly opposed due to longstanding policies and regional commitments.
Further legal proceedings are expected in the coming weeks.
