Pakistani passport: Enjoy visa-free access to 32 countries

The UAE and Pakistan yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding on exemption of entry visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

Once rolled out, these passport holders will be saved the hassle of getting their paperwork in order before applying for a visa.

While the UAE is the latest addition on the list, the Pakistani passport offers visa-free or visa-on-arrival travel to several countries.

According to Henley and Partners, a passport ranking platform, the Pakistani passport is ranked 100th, with visa-free access to 32 countries.

The passport’s ranking has improved over the recent years, climbing from 113th in 2021 to its current spot.

Pakistani passport holders can travel visa-free to the following countries:

Types of visas and accesses

What is a visa-free destination?

A destination that does not require the visitor to have any kind of visa.

What is an electronic travel authorization (ETA)?

You do not need a visa to enter these destinations, but you must apply for a digital electronic travel authorization before arrival.

What is visa on arrival?

You need a visa to enter these destinations, but you can apply for and receive the visa upon arrival at the airport. No pre-departure approval is necessary.

What is an e-visa?

You need a visa to enter these destinations, but you can apply for it online, and the visa you receive is electronic.

In all other cases, if a regular visa is required, you must apply for a traditional visa in person.

Strongest passports

According to the 2025 list, the Singapore passport is the strongest, with visa-free access to 193 destinations, followed by Japan and South Korea tied at 190 destinations.

Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain are jointly third, with visa-free access to 189 destinations.
