A 5.5-magnitude earthquake, per Pakistan's NSMC, shook areas near Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 pm.
The epicenter was 60 km northwest of Rawalpindi, at a shallow 12 km depth. The USGS and EMSC reported a slightly weaker 5.0 magnitude at a deeper 39 km.
Tremors were also felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Earlier, a 4.3-magnitude quake hit the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
