Heavy showers, hail hit Al Alisaili–Margham and Ghshabah; NCM forecasts more rain tomorrow
Dubai: Heavy rainfall and hail were reported over Al Alisaili–Margham area in Dubai and light showers in Ghshabah, Al Ain, on Friday afternoon, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).
Popular weather-tracking Instagram account @storm_ae also shared dramatic footage of the downpour in Dubai, capturing the moment dark clouds swept across the skyline.
Humidity is expected to rise overnight and into Saturday morning, especially along coastal areas. Winds will remain light to moderate, occasionally picking up during the day, causing blowing dust. The Arabian Gulf will be slight, while the Oman Sea may become rough at times.
Looking ahead, the weather across the UAE on Saturday, July 19, is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective cloud formation in eastern and southern regions, potentially bringing rainfall, according to the NCM.
Humidity is forecast to increase overnight and into Sunday morning, particularly over western coastal and inland areas, raising the possibility of mist formation in those regions.
Winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast, but could freshen during the day, reaching up to 40 km/h, leading to blowing dust and reduced visibility in exposed areas.
Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Residents are advised to monitor official weather updates and take necessary precautions during periods of low visibility or shifting weather.
