Joji Isac, from Kerala, is an engineer, and Packeer Maraikhan works in plant operations
Dubai: Two Indian expats, both of whom have been residing in the UAE for the past 18 years, are among the five winners of Dh150,000 in the Big Ticket’s weekly draw held in Abu Dhabi.
Joji Isac, a 43-year-old engineer from Kerala, has been living in Dubai since 2007. He has been purchasing Big Ticket entries since 2011. He has tried to buy tickets every month, sometimes on his own and sometimes as part of a group of six friends. He is jubilant after finally winning.
“Oh, fantastic, I am over the moon. A win is always a win,” he said, encouraging others to stay hopeful.
“Your time will come – everyone has a day.”
Satwa resident gets lucky
Packeer Ahamed Maraikhan, a 38-year-old Indian expat, has been living here for the past 18 years. Residing in Satwa and working in plant operations, he has been buying tickets with a friend for the last four to five years. His winning moment came after a long night shift. It was only when he was heading out for prayer that he noticed the missed calls and was thrilled to learn he had won.
“I had just come back and missed the first two calls,” said Maraikhan, who plans to support his family with the unexpected cash prize.
Every week, five winners walk away with Dh150,000 through Big Ticket’s weekly e-draws. Every ticket purchased in April qualifies for these draws.
