Gulf News Fun Drive: Dune-bashers gear up for action and fun

Dubai: An array of entertaining activities and delectable dishes await Gulf News Over Night Fun Drive participants at the scenic camp site located in the Al Aqran area of Umm Al Quwain on Friday evening.

To make the camping experience truly memorable, the evening will kick off with a desert drumming circle followed by Roving entertainers, a superhero circus show, a band, belly dance sequences, a fire show, a cake cutting and the sponsor raffle draw.

The special features set to give the camp site a carnival atmosphere are Superman and Batman film shows, face painting, PlayStation booths, Hoopla, Wheel of Fortune and Karaoke.

After a seven-hour drive along a 209.5km route, participants will be hoping to relax their aching muscles. They can do so at a fitness centre set up just to help them stretch their limbs.

There will be three barbecue dinner sittings beginning at 6pm hosted by Al Futtaim Motors – Toyota.

The camp site provides amenities that include electric lighting, toilets and showers. There are ample parking spaces for participants and tents and community tents are provided. If they choose, participants can pitch their own tents out in the open.

Saeed patrols will be posted at the site to hand over reports to participants whose vehicles might be damaged during the drive. Medical assistance is also provided at the camp.

Those making it to the campsite early will also get an opportunity to capture the sunset on their cameras.

Fun Drivers will leave the site after breakfast on Saturday.
