Sharjah: As residents prepare to celebrate Eid Al Adha, Sharjah Police have confirmed they are fully prepared to ensure public safety throughout the holiday. A comprehensive security and traffic plan has been put in place in coordination with various departments to allow the community to enjoy the festivities without concern.

Brigadier General Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director of Operations and Security Support, said the plan includes a range of precautionary measures. These include deploying additional police and traffic patrols near mosques and prayer areas, monitoring roads through the central control room to ensure smooth traffic flow, and assigning rapid-response teams to handle emergencies or any incidents of misconduct.

He also warned of the dangers associated with fireworks, particularly for children. Police will be closely monitoring stores and public spaces to prevent the sale and use of fireworks, which pose a significant risk of injury and accidents during the holidays.

“These measures are designed to protect the public and ensure that everyone feels safe during Eid,” Brig Gen Al Naour said. He urged the public to comply with safety guidelines and cooperate with police to help maintain a calm and joyful atmosphere.

The safety plan will remain in effect throughout the Eid holiday. Brig Gen Al Naour encouraged residents to explore Sharjah’s natural beauty and tourist destinations while enjoying a safe and peaceful environment.

He also reminded the public to call 999 in case of emergencies and to use 901 for non-emergency inquiries.
